  1. What did you do this past week?

During the last week, I attended lecture and started reading into what Rest APIs were and how to implement them. We finished our group RFP and got started on creating our project repo along with trying to understand how to use the technologies such as Postman and Flask to construct the APIs.

2. What’s in your way?

I’m worried about the project since I’m pretty new when it comes to using all the tools. I also have a busy week this week so hopefully everything goes well.

3. What will you do next week?

I will work on the project next week and continue to attend lecture as well as suppport my team. I also have a ton of tests and midterms coming up for other classes this week so looking to try and keep a balanced schedule and focus.

4. If you read it, what did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle?

I thought it was an important concept to be aware when it comes to designing your own code and projects. In order to reduce complexity and avoid uneccesary instantiation seperating responsibilites is crucial.

5. What was your experience of IDB1 and reduce? (this question will vary, week to week)

I thought reduce was pretty straightforward. It was interesting to learn about.

I’m still learning the tools necessary to work on the project.

6. How did you fare in the storm?

I faired relatively well. Although we lost water for a bit, I consider myself to be a lot more fortunate than others in West Campus who lost it along with power for much greater periods of time.

7. What made you happy this week?

I’m happy that things got back to normal and that I may be going back home soon! All of the ice and snow was starting to get out of hand.

8. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I’ve recently been looking into some online courses just to see if I could take something that would interest me in the CS area and I found some potential great ones on Udemy. I recommend this website if you are looking for educational videos on almost any subject because they have a ton!
